Background
FMGSuite is a marketing platform that specifically targets financial advisors. The software allows financial advisors to easily share content with their audience on social media and gives them tools to build and customize a dynamic website that not only looks good, but also complies with all of the various financial regulations that exist.Waddell & Reed (a financial advisory firm) reached out to the FMGSuite team and wanted a new and improved version of their advisor locator. They wanted a standalone desktop and mobile version to be accessible from their corporate website, as well as, an embeddable version that could be placed on the website of W&R’s local offices around the country.
During this time, FMGSuite was making a push into the enterprise market, so this seemed like a good fit for something that we could provide for W&R’s specific use case and also re-purpose for other enterprise customers. We’d use them as test users and iterate based on their feedback, while also keeping in mind that this would need to be customizable from a style perspective (colors, logos, etc), as well as functionally (some enterprises would want different search options, for example).
In this case study, you’ll find a series of preliminary iterations that are FMGSuite-branded and then some examples of the final W&R version of the locator.
Project Goals
1. Create a best-in-class locator experience to W&R's specifications.2. Design and build it in a way that it'll be easily customizable (just like all of the other features in the FMGSuite toolkit)
3. Include a desktop and mobile version, as well as, embeddable widgets that can be placed within web pages with a shortcode.
